YMCA Casey wins Health, Education and Well-being Award

    November 7, 2017

On Friday night at the Casey Cardinia Business Awards held at the Cranbourne Turf Club, YMCA Casey won the Health, Education and Well-being award.

Winning the award is a great honour for YMCA Casey, which is made up of Berwick Leisure Centre, Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre, Casey Stadium, Casey ARC, Casey RACE and Doveton Pool in the Park.

Barry Harrison, Area Manager, accepted the award on behalf of YMCA Casey and acknowledged the 750 staff who work across the Casey sites and made this success possible.

"We are more than just pools, gyms, courts and gymnastics," Harrison said. "We are a team of dedicated people who work to offer a multitude of programs and events that bring people together to lead healthier and happier lives."

An example of this is the mindfulness programs initiated this year or the PreGym, Mums 'n' Bubs and All Access programs that are fully inclusive to all in the community.

"Our ongoing partnership with the City of Casey, which has now been going for 20 years has allowed us to flourish," Harrison said, "enabling us to expand, diversify and offer to the public a greater variety of programs and services."

The redevelopment of the Casey Stadium complex is an example of this. With an $18.3 million investment by the City of Casey, the centre has become a centre piece for indoor sports and recreation within the Casey Cardinia community.

YMCA would like to thank the City of Casey and Cardinia Shire for its acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication of YMCA Casey staff and volunteers.
