    November 28, 2018

As the year draws to a close, we want to thank all our members for making 2018 the most incredible year yet. Your ongoing support and commitment to our program allows us to continue to connect and touch the lives of our local community.

We are looking forward to sharing an even bigger and better 2019 with you and your family.

    END OF 2018 PROGRAM

The final day for the 2018 Gymnastics Program is Wednesday 19th of December.

All enrolments will automatically rollover into the 2019 program.

    WHAT’S BEEN HAPPINING THIS YEAR?

Casey Gymnastics have been reaching out to the wider community in more ways than ever. All abilities gymnastics across sites is booming with approximately 60 participants enrolled across sites. Five new gymnasts have competed in two competitions within 2018 at the state level. Our crowd favourite, Curtis, performed his spectacular gymnastics cartwheels and handstands at "Dream Night" at the zoo on the 13th October. Over 200 children with additional needs and their family attended the twilight zoo event to celebrate and empower each and every individual!

This year marked the start of our competitive gymnasts competing as ‘Casey Gymnastics’. We had gymnasts competing in WAG 2-9, Gymstar 2-10 and MAG 1-7, with the first competition on Sunday 25th February and the final competition on Saturday 10th November.

Our MAG ALP athletes in Level 1 and 3 competed for the first time this year and picked up many individual awards, with our Level 1 boys placing 2nd at Grips, and 3rd at PIT.

We had around 150 Gymstar competitors from both venues competing, with teams placing top 3 across the competitions from all levels. We had many first placed All Around gymnasts as well as many apparatus winners.

In our WAG ALP program, we had gymnasts travelling all across Victoria to compete from Maffra to Warrnambool with many venues in between. Throughout the season all teams managed top 3 placings, with gymnasts placing top 3 all around at most competitions. We had gymnasts recently compete at State Pennant (Level 2) and Victorian Championships (Level 3-6). At the Victorian Championships, we had two gymnasts top the state on Vault, and one gymnast top the state on Floor, as well as one of our teams being crowned Vault champions. One of our Level 4 gymnasts was also the recipient of the Artistry Award.

We look forward to an event bigger season next year in 2019.

    WELCOME SHANNON

“Hello all! I'm Shannon, and gymnastics has been my passion since the age of seven. I was a competitive gymnast up until the age of 16, and still enjoy attending an adult class occasionally. I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Primary Education, and my other love outside of gymnastics is musical theatre.

I'm super excited to join the Casey Gymnastics family and meet all the gymnasts. I'll do my best to introduce myself to everyone, but if you see me around, don't hesitate to come and say hi!” Shannon joins the team as the Gymnastics Coordinator of Casey Stadium.
